Polar Cucumber…uh…Polar Bear Swim for the Cause!

So, the year 2009 is coming to an end, and it is time to re-evaluate your achievements, your failures, and your goals for 2010. This is a great time to decide to do something new, something you have never done before, something that will get your blood flowing and your heart pumping!

How often do you get this feeling? My guess is, the older we get the less often we are open to this exhilarating rush of adrenaline and heart pumpin’ action. Well, unless you are really old, but that happens for a different reason… For the rest of the crew, I challenge you to get back on the excitement band wagon (as if you were 7 years old again!) and come up with one activity that scares you, that gives you goose bumps, that gets you out of your cozy comfort zone.

Mine is – the Polar Bear Swim! Of course, the fact that I live (luckily enough) in Vancouver, Canada does make it easier, since there is no snow, or ice, but still… Holy cow, the water is freezing, and it will get me far enough from my comfort zone. I will definitely need something quick to warm me up right after the dip! I think the good old “stoly” will do the trick! But this is a topic for a different post …
