3 quick ways to fight information overload

How many email newsletters are you receiving daily? Is it too hard to keep up with the amount of information you are getting? Do you find it difficult to stay focused? I know for myself, I am finding it hard to stay on top of things without burring myself in the endless flow of email, newsletters, blog posts and tweets. How to stay sane??
#1 Fight Email Overload
Filter and re-evaluate emails that you are getting on a daily basis. Is it worth your time to read them ALL? Pay attention to the content. If you delete, without even opening, an email (at least 3 times) – unsubscribe from it. Less emails, less wasted time.
#2 Do not follow people JUST because they follow YOU
Sure, it’s good karma, to follow someone when they start following you (and some people start following you, just in hopes that you will return the favour), but at the end of the day you will end up with hundreds of useless daily tweets, that will just junk up your twitter page. You also might miss something interesting amongst the debris of junk tweets.
#3 Filter out industry news
I find it very easy to get lost when reading the SEO industry news and browsing industry web sites. I don’t even notice as several hours would go by and I still even didn’t find all the answers to my questions.
It’s better to choose a couple of reputable sites, that are real pros in your industry, and stick with them. Very often people talk about the same thing, so you will be re-reading the same news several times, without even noticing it .
Stay focused! :)
Happy Marketing.
